Getting to Berkeley from San Francisco Airport (SFO)
- By BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit): Take the Air Train (free of charge) to the BART station. Board the Richmond Line from SFO, and disembark at Downtown Berkeley station. One-way tickets are $8.65, purchasable at the airport’s BART station. Duration of the ride is approximately 1 hour. Hours of operation: 5 am – 1 am. - By shuttle: Super Shuttles run from SFO to Berkeley at the cost of $35 per passenger, one-way. Visit http://www.supershuttle.com/ or call 800-258-3826 to book.
- By cab: Taxis are available outside all terminals, see link for map: http://www.flysfo.com/web/page/tofrom/transp-serv/taxis/pickup.html. One-way fare from SFO is $80-90.
- By car: Take the 101 Freeway north into San Francisco. The 101 will turn into the I-80 East. Follow signs for Bay Bridge/Oakland. Once you’ve crossed the bridge, stay on the 80 headed north for Berkeley. Exit at University Ave (exit 11). University Avenue will take you directly into campus.
From Oakland International Airport (OAK)
- By BART: Take the AirBART shuttle (above-ground bus outside terminals 1 & 2) to Coliseum/Oakland Airport BART station. Cost for shuttle is $3 one-way. Tickets for BART should be purchased separately at the station, and cost $2.35. Board the Richmond Line and disembark at Downtown Berkeley station. Duration of the ride is approximately 30 minutes. - By cab: Taxis are available outside terminals 1 & 2. One-way fare from airport to downtown Berkeley is approximately $60. The airport employs taxis from Friendly Cab (510-536-3000) and Veteran’s Cab (510-533-1900).
- By car: Take Airport Drive out of the terminals, and merge onto the 880 Freeway North. Take the 880 Freeway north past downtown Oakland; it will become the 80-E. Exit at University Avenue (exit 11), this will take you to downtown Berkeley & campus.
